My Art

I work with the kiln formed glass technique, a 4000 years old glass technique, originating in Ancient Egypt and employed also by Ancient Rome.

You can read more about the technique by clicking here.

Kiln formed glass means in its essence that one usually works with the glass while it's cold - all shaping takes place in the oven by gravity. It also means that the things which should not only be shaped in a form - but through suspension or otherwise - must be planned carefully before starting the stove.

As a supplement, I have developed my own methods and techniques which I spice the kiln formed glass technique. In that way, I have developed and produced some designs, which might be termed my specialties.

You can read more about the specialties by clicking here or on the picture to the right. The rough plate comes from Buleseye in USA. It is hand-rolled and in my opinion, the best rough plate there is.

It is important for me to unfold my creativity in art. Nature, of which I´m tremendously fond, is my primary source of inspiration: It is beautiful, changing, wild, unpredictable, indomitable and entirely without straight lines.

That is the reason, why you don´t see a lot of triangles or squares in my art, but asymmetric and sculptural forms, which in their composition appear as a harmonious continuum in form and in design – often with a rustic or iridescent surface.

To me art should primarily create joy and get the viewer to stop for a minute to enjoy the moment and the silence. Art should rest in itself and be beautiful and harmonious, but I don´t mind, if it is a little wild and rustic too.

Art should bloom in the heart of the individual person, and I wish for my art to contribute a little to that.
